About Carlos Vazquez for Congress
|Carlos is married to a wonderful wife, Christina, who is a first grade teacher. He and his wife are blessed with one beautiful daughter and another on the way.
He has worked as both a psychologist assistant and a physician’s office manager. He currently is a Financial Advisor with an emphasis on behavioral finance and the president of the “Circle of Insight”, a think tank consisting of engineers, scientists, elected public servants, foreign dignitaries, church leaders, and educators who deliberate on the challenging issues of our time and offer common sense solutions to these problems.
Carlos’ parents escaped from Cuba during the ascendancy of Castro. In grave danger and under great duress, the family was ultimately able to immigrate legally to the United States. Although a wealthy family in Cuba, Carlos’ family lost everything during the Cuban Revolution. Prior to the family’s escape, Carlos’ father was imprisoned in a communist prison because he fought for freedom and individual rights in Cuba.
Like so many other families with similar circumstances, Carlos’ parents came here because they believed that in the United States, hard work, dedication, and discipline are rewarded. They advocated American patriotism and love of country and instilled in Carlos gratefulness for the opportunities and liberties that the United States provides.
Carlos was raised in the San Fernando Valley and graduated from St. Genevieve High School. He has lived in Orange County for 23 years and is dedicated to the prosperity of Southern California. Carlos is a first generation American; his first language was Spanish and he is fluent in both Spanish and English. Both Carlos and his brother, a doctor, have risen from poverty and adversity to become highly educated.
Carlos teaches Economics 101, an educational class for those interested in investing. He is a member of the World Affairs Council of both Orange Country and Los Angeles. Carlos is also a member of the Society of Neuroscience.
He graduated with a master’s degree in Marriage , Family, and Child Therapy. He will complete his dissertation in 2014, at which time he will be awarded his doctorate.
My campaign is about the future…the future of our children and grandchildren.
I realized that the freedoms and opportunities I enjoyed at her age no longer exist in today's America, and I have to fight everyday to protect those wonderful gifts for my daughter and her children. I cannot and will not sit by and see this great country destroy itself.
If America is to survive and go forward, it must change direction. It will only change direction when the American people vote for a new kind of leadership. A leader that fights for a life with opportunity and the American dream!
